First appointment at the clinic
Making contact with the dental clinic
You can schedule your first appointment online, by phone or by visiting the dental clinic.
Here are the questions to ask during this first contact:
- What documents are needed for registration and during the first appointment?
- What are the fees and treatments offered during the first appointment?
- What are the payment terms?
- How long will the appointment last?
- How long will it take to get the appointment?
- How are claims handled (if you have dental insurance)
- Do I have to reconfirm my presence at this appointment and what are the policies regarding cancellation?
Planning the first appointment
During this first appointment, it is strongly suggested that you arrive before the scheduled time since you will have to fill out a medical questionnaire that will describe your general health (if you have not already filled it out online). It is very important that you answer all the questions correctly and inform your dentist of any particularities related to your health, such as allergies, current medication and previous surgeries.
Do not hesitate to mention any detail that could help the dentist and his team to know you better and to offer you a service adapted to your needs.
For example:
- If you are nervous or anxious.
- If you have had a bad experience at a dental clinic.
- If certain restrictions apply to your appointments (duration, stretching if your mouth is open too long, pain from cold on certain teeth, etc.).
- If you need specific information (X-rays, choice of treatments, etc.).
Let us know!
First visit
Your first visit will allow us to get to know you. A meeting with your hygienist will ensure that your needs are well defined and that all your questions are answered.
To improve the appearance of your smile or to evaluate your child’s smile, we will first proceed with an evaluation using photos and digital X-rays.
Prevention rather than cure
In children, the dentist can detect problems with jaw growth and tooth eruption. Some problems are more easily corrected at a young age. A first visit is recommended as early as 2-3 years of age, which is about the time when the child has all his teeth in his mouth. If you notice any problems before this age, don’t hesitate to see your dentist earlier. This period, during which the child is still growing, is ideal for obtaining the best possible treatment results and establishing an oral hygiene routine from an early age. During the consultation, the dentist may also detect a problem that requires a monitoring approach and a subsequent intervention.
The taking of digital x-rays
With the help of the images produced by our digital X-ray machine, it is possible to perform an analysis of your teeth that will allow us to confirm the best treatment plan. These images are available much more quickly and allow the dentist to complete the analysis of the case with greater efficiency.
The taking of pictures
During your visit, photos are taken to verify in detail all aspects of the teeth, gums and face. The photos are essential to confirm the treatment plan.
